XTAF Profile Injecting
« on: April 06, 2011, 04:57:09 PM »
Well, I guess this is the best place to ask this, probably not.  But, I was wanting to ask a question about the Content section.  See, I have put quite a few profiles into it, and sometimes when I'm going to put another profile on to the device, it says it's already there.  I believe it's due to 2 profiles having the same exact IDs.  Well, I was wondering if it's possible to replace one digit within the profile ID, and it still register?  I don't wanna mess  anything up, so I'm asking before I do it.  If no one knows, I'll give it a test, and let you guys know at some point.  Only if you want me to, though.  lol

Yes you can.
First you'll see the profile's folder. The name of that folder is the profile ID.
So what you first need to do is change a letter or number in that code.

For example:

I have a profile downloaded which looks like this folder wise

E00007515AA8A226\FFFE07D1\00010000\E00007515AA8A226
<Profile Folder>\<Dashboard Folder>\<Profile Folder>\<Profile>

You would need to change the Profile Folder, Profile, and Profile ID.

So I would change mine to this:

E00007515AA8A225\FFFE07D1\00010000\E00007515AA8A225

So I change it from E00007515AA8A226 to E00007515AA8A225

Make sure you rename the folder and file name.

Once you've done that you'll want to copy the new name, and open the profile with modio.
When you have the profile opened in modio you'll see Profile ID: <Profile's ID>

<Profile's ID> = the original file name before you renamed it.

You want to change that ID to the new one you made, then hit Rehash and Resign.

So you changed the Folder Name, File Name, and Profile ID all to the same thing.

I might just give that a go if I run in to any more problems, thank youu.  And, one interesting thing to point out.  When I injected one of the said profiles in, and I got the prompt that it was already on there, it still injected.  So, I'm guessing it makes 2 of the same, but recognises that they're both different files.  I've only noticed this with one, but I'll update later if I notice it again.  If that's the case, the process of changes it to another one may not be necessary!  Hopefully it isn't, because Modio just doesn't seem up to par with what's going on here and iso.  Kudos to you though, haha.
