Just a few question about the USB XTAF program.
« on: April 04, 2011, 02:00:15 PM »
Well, I've read a few topics on using the Game Add-ons, and what not.  I managed to get Braid to work, following a tutorial, but I'm using the new version, so it's not easy to follow the old tutorial that is up.  Problem is, some of the add-ons say to put the game in partition 3, and then following specific folders within that partition.  There's no partition numbers in this new version, but I did manage to find my profile.  For some of the games, I may not have a save, so I don't have the specific folder to put it in, following the code given below the download on the site.  So, is there a way to create a new folder within my unit, or do I need to get a save in order to have one to inject it into?  I managed to get the Mass Effect one in a Gears of War folder, hahaha.  I feel like a loser for asking, but help would be appreciated.  (:

Partition3 is the for a hard drive, in the usb it would be the Data Partition...
It's really not that hard to comprehend.

Please don't delete your topic and create a new one, I had already moved it.

Well, I just joined the site, so I didn't know what abilities were possible on here.  As soon as I seen your comment on the other,  I deleted it, lol.

And, I got that part out of the way.  It's just that your tutorial is old, so it doesn't cover the new update as good.  What I'm figuring out with this program, is that you need to click the folder that has the 16 0's, and simply drop any dlc into it.  Is that right?  It said it doesn't need any profile, so I'm guessing it sorts itself.  Sorry if I'm being a hassle, I'm just not used to it.  Modio is the only thing I've been messing with lately, but this seems way more convenient in many ways.  Good job on your software, and the like.

My tutorial is not old... The video tutorial even shows you have to put it on your USB using XTAF...

You weren't using the most updated version of XTAF at the time.  That's all I meant, lol.  I didn't say you weren't using XTAF?

Nothing has changed in the newest version so it shouldn't make a difference. None of the folders names are gonna change just because a program gets updated. They are the same for every xbox 360.

Actually, it has changed.  You don't have to do all the things you specify in your video now.  That's why I said it was old.  The newest update already has the folders configured for you.  Also, in your tutorial, you didn't explain how to do separate downloads, such as single Game Add-ons.  You just did a Red Dead Add-on that already had its own configured folder, and then the Arcade game for the first.  You didn't specify to people who may be new to it, how to actually make the folders if you don't already have one.  Also, it was for the HDD only, so DLC was never covered for USB users.  I thought about making a tutorial, but it'd have to be written.

All my uploads have the folder already for you so I don't need to explain that.
All you need to do is extract the rar and drag the folder into xtaf, nothing more.

Haha, I already figured everything out.  I was just letting you know that it may be a little misleading for those who are new to it, and have never actually fooled with any sort of programs like it.  I noticed there's tons of people who ask silly questions, when they are asking about something that's in the most basic form, like "Hey, where's the password?"  And, the password for said file is RIGHT at the top of the page before any of the downloads.  Oh, and just a quick question about the XBLA Thief.  Is each update for it meant to just update the game list, or will new games automatically pop up as they are uploaded to the program?

Each update I release brings more games to the list.
