X360USBPRO is a USB Sata device that enables you to connect your 360's DVD Drive to the computer enable to flash it. If you have a BenQ Drive, the USBPRO is the only thing you really need. If you have a LiteOn you will also need the Probe 3. I would also look into buying the CK3 Lite and the Molex Power supply.

The X360Key is a DVD Drive emulator, which allows you to play games off a USB Hard Drive. In order to use this you need to obtain the 360's DVD Drive Firmware.

USBPRO is for people who do not have a Sata port on their computer. If you have one, you won't need the USBPRO, but if you don't then you should get it. Either way, you still need to dump the firmware from your DVD Drive to be able to Flash the Drive or use the X360Key.

So if I go the way of updating the firmware on the drive that lets me play burned games from the drive, correct? Also, with the modded firmware, does the xbox work the same as it would before except now you can play burned games? This is all new to me, I've modded my original xbox but the 360 is totally different. I've been doind a whole lot of reading and just want to make sure what hardware is needed to play burned games. I take it the firmware update also works with kinnect games as well. Sorry for the long post.

If your drive is flashed, it can read games off DVD+R DL Discs and everything else will function the same. The big thing about flashing your drive is that Microsoft can ban you for it. You have a high risk of getting console banned, meaning your console wont be able to connect to xbox live anymore. There is a way to avoid a ban, but that requires keeping up to date with the updated Microsoft releases. For example, this past December Microsoft released the newest dashboard update which disabled the modded firmware that was out at the time. On December 24th C4eva, the man who creates the firmware, released a new firmware that bypassed the recent update. So I was offline from December 6th till December 24th when the new firmware was out. As long as you don't try to go online with the old firmware when a update is released you should be fine.

Then you must understand that you will always need to update the firmware in the feature, so paying some one to flash your console is pretty pointless unless you know the person. You would want to flash your console your self so that you don't have to wait on someone when new firmware is released.
