I know I'm not on here much but VB and get a lighter theme made.

I used to know alot of IPB back when my site was up and running but I suppose vBulletin has overtook IPB nowadays.

I use to use phpbb back in the day, i didnt like it to much. I do like ipb and vbulletin but the bad thing is if i do switch all the links that i've worked so hard to get on google will be in-valid which would decrease traffic so i may stick with smf

I think the current layout/theme/Forum style is fine, but if you are going to change, Def go with VB.

I can give you a 1000 reasons why vBulletin is better. I have owned atleast 10 vbulletin forums, couple of ipb's.
vBulletin has 100x better customization, there isn't anything that you cannot to in the Admin CP. You can make it completely yours, and you can make it so beautiful. There are 1000s of Modifications that are really good for vBulletin. There is so much vBulletin support, and there isn't anything that I have not been able to do on vBulletin. There are many people who customely code themes, as well as themes that only cost 30 bucks, that you have to upload. Some of the $30 Pure vB themes, are beyond sexy. You can look at nSg for that. I could go on about this, but I will leave you at this.
