There are no such thing as game mods for the ps3. In fact, last I checked, that was impossible. The hard-drive is encrypted in a way that you cannot simply decrypt it on a PC, and it is impossible to run backups. So the security of the system makes it impossible to modify any file related to a game.

Not really. Their security was pretty much par except for a few holes in Microsoft's. For example, the Sony DVD drive firmware has RSA protection on it making it impossible to modify and flash, Microsoft's did not (newest Liteon's do). and a single accidental vulnerability in Microsoft's console made it possible to sign game saves. If Microsoft did not mess that up, then it would still be impossible. Hell there's even that same chance that Sony could do the same exact thing.

Sony is unbreakable. They know their stuff. Microsoft in the other hand, both their system are modifiable and you'd think Xbox360 would be outselling PS3?

Man, even if they made modchip for the PS3, backing-up disks would be a be'Ich. The B-ray discs are like what..$15+ for one disc? Those bastards made a wise decision going with Blue-ray disc. Like I said they know their stuff.
