LT+ v1.1 - Noob to flashing - Need guidance.
« on: December 21, 2010, 02:20:09 PM »
Although the topic below this is quite old, I still never got around to flashing my drive, and now that I have all the tools I need to do so, and the new firmware is out, I'm ready to jump head first into this.
But I've got a few questions, of course.
I have a BenQ 64930c drive, and I want to flash it to be able to play Fable 3, and a few other new games, but I'll be playing them offline, so long as I can play them, I'll be happy.
Will the new LT+ 1.1 FW work with my drive?
I only ask this because in the information file that came with the downloaded FW, it says:

Code: [Select]
Official release of C4E's iXtreme LT+ v1.1
- Supports Benq and Liteon Drives (74850, 83850V1, 83850V2, 93450)
- xbox 1 backup support (iXtreme compatible, DVD9 only)
- improved pfi support

And with my lack of knowledge on this subject, I can only assume it only works for those 4 specific drives. Am I wrong?

Which FW should I use if this FW will not work for my drive?

I'll add more questions if I have them, but this is it for now.

Help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

(74850, 83850V1, 83850V2, 93450) refers only to LiteOns.
There is only 1 BenQ drive. So yes you can.

I was reading more and I just came to this conclusion, thanks for confirming. :D
Still waiting for the SATA card to get here though, so will be going through the flashing process in a few days.
Should I dashboard update before flashing?

Doesn't matter, if your drive is stock then your 100% safe.

It is the stock drive that came with the Xbox, yes.
Forgive me for not being 100% clear, but you're saying it's safe whether it's flashed or not, so long as it is in fact the stock drive?
Or do you mean stock firmware? Because that just wouldn't make sense! :P

Thanks for your time!

After (successfully, I think) flashing my BenQ drive with the latest LT+, the DVD drive reads/spins incredibly fast, causing a lot of my games to not read, I put in CoD4, it didn't work the first time, restarted xbox, with cod4 in again (legit copy, not burnt) and it played, I started a match and as soon as it loaded the map (started loading), the screen went gray with a bunch of darker gray lines going down it the whole way across.
Is this something wrong on my end, or is this a problem with the FW?

Help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

It was caused by the xbox red ringing again, so I got another fan for it and it's running fine now, playing dead rising 2 atm!
Quick question about abgx, with the latest version, am I supposed to download the wave files? Or does it automatically have all that stuff I need? What about games with the ap25, anything special I should know about these? Or just the same process through abgx.

Thanks.

download them.
Where do I get them? I tried googling it, and looking on the abgx website and I haven't found them yet.
I burned dead rising 2 without having any of those files, should I have had those wave files to properly do it? Or am I now bound to being banned? Lol.
Sorry I have so many questions, I'm just a noob.

[edit] I found them in your How To Stealth Patch A Backup thread, I don't know anything about waves, so I'm going to search while I can, but I figured I'd ask - are those ones in your thread all I need or are there newer files or new waves?
