Help. (Yeah I know, very descriptive.)

Wanting to flash my DVD drive obviously. It's a BENQ Should I do this? If I do do it, what do I use to do it, as in, which release of "firmware?" should I use? Should I wait for some new release? Am I able to burn games? How long do you think I'll last before I get banned? Answer to any or all is greatly appreciated, to help.

[edit] Okay, so I connected it to my computer, it shows up in the Setup menu at computer startup (F10), but not in device manager, I figured that's because I don't have the driver for it installed? When I start JungleFlasher, it says "Can't install portio64.sys driver! Press F8 at boot to 'Disable Driver Signature Enforcement' OR Test sign the driver an run in 'Test Mode' etc etc" I've restarted and pressed F8, held it, rapidly pressed it, multiple things, and nothing has done the trick. What am I doing wrong?

First off post in the right section next time.
Second benQ is the easiest to flash.
Third benQ iXtreme LT v1.2.
Fourth if your worried about being banned you shouldn't be modding anything.

No one knows if MS can detect the newer FW. But it you want my opinion they can. It's not likely to get banned outta the blue, if your banned it will be when MS does their next ban wave.

Right-o! Thanks again. Any idea to a solution on failing to load the driver or whatever for JungleFlasher?

[edit] I solved the driver problem, but I cannot find my drive in JungleFlasher, does this mean my onboard SATA is no good for this?

You need to attach it VIA sata cable then power it on then open JF. If your using windows 7 you won't pick it up. I had to dual boot and use vista.

You think I could use Microsoft Virtual Machine and use XP? Or something like a live Linux cd?

Bro your not suppose to have the dvd drive powered on when you boot your computer. Download Jungleflasher 1.6 and do manual install.
